Windows Firewall Error Code 13
Whoever developped this application should be trained on proper programming. Run it in Windows XP compatibility mode and it will work fine. It might prompt you everytime you launch it, but until the Spotify CTO understands how to program Windows applications, that would be your only choice. Most AV's add their own firewall & automatically disable Windows firewall. If the AV wasn't uninstalled properly, the remnant files could cause a problem. MS has a fix-it tool for the firewall you might want to try. Diagnose and fix Windows Firewall service problems automatically.
What does this mean guys
I can't start the windows firewall service, and this is what I see in event
viewer:
'The Windows Firewall service terminated with service-specific error 13
(0xD).'
WF.MSC returns: 'The Windows Firewall with Advanced Security snap-in failed
to load. Restart the Windows Firewall service on the computer that you are
managing. Error code: 0x6D9.
This bloody god damn error codes are so useless! I mean why give me an error
code, why not just translate the meaning !
I believe all other relevant services are up and running - someone, please,
help!

Error codes 2, 8, 4, 11, 101, or 13
The error codes 2, 4, 8, 11, 13, or 101 indicate that the online activation application cannot get past your NAT router or Firewall. You will need to disable your firewall temporarily to activate online.
If you have Windows Vista or 7 there is also a Windows program called Windows Defender and it can cause this issue. Please open Windows Defender and go to Tools and then Options. Here you will find a lot of configuration options. On the left you will find a section called Administrator. Uncheck ‘Use this program’ and press the Save button – you will receive a notification saying that ‘Windows Defender is turned off’ and you can exit Windows Defender. Please try activating again after doing this.
