The truth of the matter is that according to the facts, there are only 75 lawsuits in total against Remington for this reason, and based on production numbers, 99.9985% function perfectly. With those numbers, could this really be a design flaw?. Furthermore, despite claims that the situation is easily reproduced, and hundreds of thousands of dollars being spent on experts, nobody has EVER been able to cause a Remington 700 to fire without the trigger being pulled, the cause of these suits may be a result of owners modifying incorrectly a factory 700. Additionally, Remington no longer uses the Walker Trigger, which is the trigger that was claimed to be defective. |
